I was approached by a photographic agency looking for Newcastle contemporary photographers to carry out a few shoots for them around the Newcastle area, and one such shoot was for the Flaming Grill Pubs chain and their recently refitted premises the Fox and Hounds on the West Road, not far from the centre of Newcastle. The brief was to grab a few shots of the interior of the pub but the main focus point was manager Geoff and the ‘trash can challenge’ which is dustbin lid filled with mouth watering food!
Being one of the Newcastle contemporary photographers I love shoots like this as it’s a real mixture of capturing smaller details and also working with people to get some relaxed and fun photographs. Geoff was very accommodating and we got some great shots as a result. Also big thanks to the two team members who really got stuck in to the food for the photos! They didn’t take too much persuading as the smell of the food was extremely alluring. The selection consisted of many things but the ribs in particular looked really tasty, falling off the bone and the staff picked them up, and that double bacon cheese burger really was HUGE!
I’d never been to the Fox and Hounds before but it’s not actually all that far from where I live, I think I’ll definitely visit again and who knows maybe even take on the ‘trash can challenge’ myself, although I may need to take someone along to assist in taking down the mammoth task!
